VANCOUVER, BC – Michael E. Moore, President and CEO of GCT Global Container Terminals Inc. today announced the appointment of Eric Waltz to the executive position of Senior Vice President, GCT Canada effective August 26, 2009.
“Eric has a broad international background within the maritime industry and brings the right skills and experience to head up our Canadian operation. He will be responsible for the profit and loss, and day to day management of our two container terminals in Canada, including Deltaport, the largest container terminal in the country.” said Michael E. Moore, President and CEO.
Mr. Waltz is currently Chief Operations Officer at APM Terminals in Cape Town, South Africa with overall responsibility for the performance of all terminals in the Africa Region. His operational and managerial career with APM Terminals has taken him from Tacoma to Los Angeles, Long Beach, and Malaysia before settling in Africa.
In addition to his maritime experience, Mr. Waltz was a Lieutenant and Platoon Leader in the United States Army and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Studies and Industrial Engineering from West Point in New York.
