
Michael E. Moore
President and Chief Executive Officer
Michael Moore joined GCT Global Container Terminals Inc. on November 1, 2008 and is responsible for all marine terminals under the GCT Global Container Terminals corporate and subsidiary brands in Canada and the United States. Michael has an extensive international background within the maritime industry including ocean shipping, warehousing and distribution in addition to commercial and general management experience. Prior to joining the company, Michael was Senior Vice President, Commercial for DP World in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In this role since 2005, he was responsible for the entire commercial function which included more than 46 global locations in 25 countries.
He was accountable for sales, marketing, U.S. governmental relations, sales training and development in the United States, Europe, Latin America, Africa, the Middle East and Asia. During his career at DP World, Michael was a member of the Board of P&O Steam Navigation Co. and is currently a member of the Imperial College London Industry Advisory Board. From 1984 to 2005, he held various positions within Maersk Sealand, one of the world’s leading shipping companies.
Michael progressed throughout the organization and from 1999 to 2005; he was Vice President, Global Sales for Europe & Africa while based in Copenhagen, Denmark, and London, United Kingdom. He was responsible for global sales in the Europe and Africa regions and was accountable for strategic planning, revenue development, sales training, and staffing and field management. After living in Dubai since 2005, Michael and his wife and son have made Vancouver their home.
