Peter Miedema has Masters Degrees in Civil Engineering and Business Administration and is a Certified Engagement Manager. He has more than 21 years of Information Technology experience of which he spent 14 years in the logistics and maritime industry.
At Cap Gemini, a global consulting firm, Peter held various management positions. When acting as project manager and principal consultant for various container terminal operators,he has led teams on the selection, development and implementation of Terminal Operating Systems for clients such as ECT (European Combined Terminals) and Euromax.
As a competence leader for the maritime industry, Peter established the Cap Gemini’s Solution Centre for Ports & Shipping. He co-developed a module for the Erasmus University’s (Rotterdam) Maritime Economics and Logistics program and lectured as a guest speaker.
While at Cap Gemini, Peter was seconded as interim IT manager for TSI Terminal Systems Inc. (TSI). In 2005, he joined TSI as Vice President, Information Technology. Peter successfully transitioned TSI’s IT Department from a technical/in-house development focus to a business/third party systems implementation focus, which resulted in overall cost savings and improvement in the department’s operation.
