Jim Devine
President and CEO, Global Container Terminals USA
As President and CEO of Global Container Terminals USA, Jim is responsible for the strategic management and operations of GCT's container terminals in New York and New Jersey. He is a 35-year veteran of the shipping industry and has held various senior positions throughout his career in the container industry. Jim began his transportation career as a Transportation Corp. Officer in the United States Army before he went on to Sea-Land Service in 1973 where he spent 26 years progressing through various senior positions throughout the company.
From 1991 to 2001, Jim was Senior Vice President, Operations for CMA CGM America, Inc. the French container line, where he was responsible for operations throughout North America. He joined New York Container Terminal in 2001 as President and CEO where he is responsible for the expansion and modernization of the 180 acre facility on Staten Island. Jim is a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and has a Bachelor of Science degree, Marine Biology from the University of Massachusetts.
